Dr. Hassan Ismail

Dr. Hassan Ismail | Cardiologist

Dr. Hassan Ismail came to the Heart & Vascular Institute from North Carolina, where he completed his Interventional Cardiology training at East Carolina Heart Institute of East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine — the busiest Heart Hospital and catheterization laboratory in the state. East Carolina Heart Institute also boasts the first robotic heart surgery in the United States, performed in 1998 by Dr. Randolph Chitwood.

Upon graduation, Dr. Ismail became a permanent member of the Reeves-Chitwood Cardiovascular Society of Brody School of Medicine.  Dr. Ismail spent last year at Detroit Medical Center, Harper University Hospital and Wayne State University for advanced training in heart valve interventions, where he worked with Dr. Schreiber and performed peripheral interventions with Dr. Elder.

I take pride in providing only the best cardiac care — to alleviate pain and suffering and improve quality of life.

Dr. Ismail completed his cardiovascular training at East Tennessee State University where he was awarded the first Ralph Cole Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at East Tennessee State University and James Quillen VA Medical Center. Dr. Ismail practiced Internal Medicine for 10 years before becoming a cardiologist, enabling him to better understand his patients’ cardiovascular illnesses in relation to other organ systems.

Dr. Ismail completed his Internal Medicine training at Texas Tech University and has an additional postgraduate Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Tennessee. His focus on Community Health Education helped him develop special skills for educating patients about preventing cardiovascular illnesses. Dr. Ismail also performs research in his field and has published over 25 articles and original scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
